Intermunity Project 2021-2022
RISE (Resilience In Survivors Everywhere), the Intermunity Project for the 2021-2022 school year, is focused on providing support for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, and child labor. Interact 5170 has partnered with Her Future Coalition and YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley to achieve this, and our goal for the school year is to raise $75,000. From our fundraising, $50,000 will be donated to Her Future and $25,000 will be given to YWCA. This means that we’ll be able to create a new computer lab, a resource center, and provide shelter and sustenance for survivors. Every dollar you donate will leave tremendous impact on the ones in shelters. Internationally, the focus will be geared more towards human trafficking and child labor while community focuses on domestic violence and sexual assault. Through both, education, engagement, and empowerment will be used to spread awareness about these issues. This year, our service goal will be 50,000 hours. Alongside HFC, we will be helping young individuals in India and Nepal gain the opportunities to succeed in life and become independent. Similarly, YWCA will be paving the way to economic security for those in need and helping survivors move past their trauma.
